The Secunda Project
The Secunda Project is looking for volunteers to help us complete the first stage of our development process. This stage, which we call "storyboarding." During the storyboarding phase, we carefully plan and document every quest in the mod, from the expansive main quest through to the faction chains and down to the smallest side-quest.
This storyboarding phase will help the project in several ways:
- By planning every quest before production we can spot plot holes and inconsistencies and correct them before any programming or development is started. This saves us time and effort, in the long run.
- Our quest design documents will help us determine what assets need to be created for every quest. Quests that require a great deal of asset value but do not create a proportional amount game play value in return can be altered accordingly.
- Lore and dialog can be massaged and improved very early in the mod's development. This means that the mod, on release, will be extremely mature and rewarding, with a complex body and a pleasing head with hints of mahogany and an earthy texture. I think this metaphor might be getting away from me.
- By determining what assets will be used, as well as when and how often, we can schedule our asset creation plan accordingly. Then, when Creation Kit development begins, our CK developers will have the largest amount of unique, Secunda-specific assets available. That means less time spent waiting on, for example, hallway meshes and textures. Also less time will be wasted replacing "production" assets with "final" assets.
That's why we're looking for as many qualified Quest Designers as we can find! Interested writers should be well-versed in Elder Scrolls lore and have at least a working knowledge of the Creation Kit for Skyrim, Oblivion, or Morrowind. We need creative people who are professional, productive, and interested in writing amazing stories in a illusory and metaphysical land.
Please visit us at the Tatterdemalion subreddit and start a thread with your application. Be sure to include any mods you've created for the Elder Scrolls series, or otherwise, as well as any additional information you think is relevant.
If Reddit isn't your thing, we will also accept applications via our contact email, below.
